Hi All,
With this post I am starting a new feature called "Ask VegasInsideScoop.com". Questions from Las Vegas visitors and Las Vegas locals alike are always welcome.
Question:
My boyfriend and I are going to Las Vegas this July for a conference. Neither of us gamble. We're staying 5 nights at one of The Las Vegas Strip hotel-casinos and sharing a room with other convention-goers.
For the 5 nights pre-conference, we're on our own to enjoy ourselves. We just want to relax and are looking for a really nice place, very nice room, nice pool and some fun activities. Basically something very tasteful and somewhat luxurious. A whirlpool bath would be nice and so would a kitchen to save some money.
We would like to spend around $1,000 for the 5 nights but know that may not be entirely reasonable. Any suggestions?
Answer From VegasInsideScoop.com:
Why would you want to cook on vacation? Too many great restaurants and eateries of all kinds that are reasonable (or extravagant for splurges). Ditch the kitchen idea.
May I suggest that you consider one of the two very luxurious off-Strip Station Casino properties? Either Red Rock Casino in Summerlin or Green Valley Ranch (GVR as the locals call it) in Henderson. www.StationCasinos.com
Both are about 15-20 minutes from The Strip, have great pool areas (I specifically would love to stay at Red Rock Casino myself after seeing their gorgeous pool areas with their plush loungers), and Green Valley Ranch has its beach recreation area.
Each property is very classy and contemporary, have lots of restaurants on-site, with major upscale shopping and dining across the street from GVR and nice shopping/dining across from Red Rock Casino. Both Station Casino properties have their own nightclubs, show venues, fancy bowling alleys, movie complexes, health clubs and spas and resort activities.
Plus, if you stay at Red Rock Casino, you'll be at the gateway to Red Rock Recreation Area which is Mother Nature at her best (although it will be a little toasty come July--who am I kidding? It's toasty today at 107 degrees)!
I would think that you could make it at or close to your $1,000 budget for the 5 days at either of those places, and have a great time in Vegas in upscale comfort without gambling. Since you'll be on The Strip for the conference anyway, this way you get the best of both worlds!
